Interview: Sailing Distance Record Holder Robert Suhay
On June 28, 2014, Robert Suhay, age 51, set sail aboard a laser dinghy. He did not touch land for 86 hours, breaking the Guinness Book record for longest distance sailed in a dinghy totally unassisted – over 320 nautical miles in 3 days. In this interview he describes his first attempt experience, the exhaustion, and the circumstances that led the Coast Guard to intervene.
